8/6/2008 Rich Joy的水镜院子一砖水，墙上一面镜，自然物质与人工材料的并置，这是建筑中死物间无言的对话；盛水的金属板的运用企图想表达力与尺度的无关。看到他的作品画册，我仿佛听到他在弹奏黑白琴键。然后想起柯布1923年《走向新建筑》写道：
你用石，木，混凝土建造房屋与宫殿，这就是建筑业。才智在发挥作用。突然之间，你触动了我的心弦，令我高兴，给我带来喜悦，于是我说：“这真美阿！”这就是建筑学，艺术进来了。我的房屋是实用的，我感谢你，就像我感谢铁路工程师或电话局一样，但你并没用触动我的心弦。然而，假如墙体穿入云霄的方式使我感动，我理解你的意图。不论你的情绪是温和的，粗暴的，迷人的或高贵的，你堆砌的石块都能告诉我。你把我固定在这一场所，我的目光扫描它。眼睛看到的东西表达了一种思想，一种不以言词或声音表达的思想，而完全是透过相互间具有一定关系的形体来表达。这些形体在光线照射下能清晰地表露自己，它们之间的关系不一定涉及实用性或陈述性。这是一种在你头脑中进行的数学创作。这就是建筑学的语言。通过对惰性材料的应用以及从或多或少功利主义的条件出发，你确立了某些足以唤起我情感的关系，这就是建筑学。

5/13/2008 LeavingMoving is never easy, but always exciting. I would be pround of all you guys leaving for dreams, who have spent time in LA and had great time with me. 3/12/2008 与Richard Meier相遇项目9900Wilshire的晚宴在BH市中的Xi·an举行，英国客户在美国用的却是中餐，有何居心？
说RM为贵族建筑师一点不为过，雪白的头发和衬衫，黑色的西装和领带，身材魁梧，语调低沉，身上流露着和他作品一样的气质：优雅和谐。
短短数语，他提起了深圳的项目，我说起了故乡。。。
项目完成了Shematic Design，迎来了Beverly Hills city coucil meeting这个盛会，Richard 此次到访是前来助阵打气的。BH市长颇具幽默，但也压制不住贵族们的反对呼声，7时开始，先是三小时的群众发言，然后到五个city planning commisioners 就先前数次public hearing的3正2反的结果进行发言，最后到rm发言已接近午夜，RM发言简短，谈了一些他做的住宅项目，点明了两点，一，Michael Palladino 是LA分部在做Getty Center时就开始的partner，合作时间长达25年，二，RM的品牌建筑会提升site的价值。十五张幻灯片没什么停顿就过去了，有点急。MP随后进行了大量的方案阐述，olin的Dennis present landscape完场。
可怜带着各地时差的人们被扯缠到凌晨一点方能散去。It is such a long day。。。不过遇见他，感到了有一股在MP身上也能找到的力量，和Frank Gehry和Art Gensler不同的力量。晚辈通宵，值得。

登机时积攒三个RP换来一个GZ邻座。
Justin 长头发和吃肉了，但没长肉，象hiking一样，我们依然保持十米距离逛NYC。
在街上和帮主相聚，分手那天感到酸楚。
Min一样的热情好客周到，Zhongling还是那么pp。
Linsheng换新车了，说话依然快。
终于搞清Zhangyin的名字发音。
在Zhu家，头回见识到酒店式公寓。
Liying新发型很好看，去MOMA的次数使我吃惊，对Richard Serra的作品感兴趣，挑选了有意思的烛台。在公司有自己的房间和秘书，还有来自LA的“阿蝉”。

参观Morgan Lib.过了把建筑瘾，登帝国大厦的晚上又风又雨，可是看到了惊喜。
喜欢在MOMA store玩新奇的玩具， 和帮主在纽约街头乱过马路和说脏话，可谓刺耳。
